The Youth Institute for Education, Leadership, and Development (YIELD) Foundation is a dedicated network of professionals, volunteers, and community leaders passionate about empowering and nurturing the growth of our youth.

Founded in 1997, the YIELD Foundation serves as a vital non-profit community resource for the inner-city Springfield neighborhood in Jacksonville, FL, near downtown. In response to the challenges of rising crime, violence, and economic hardship, the YIELD Foundation was created to offer a beacon of hope for the community. Since its inception, we have provided a safe, supportive space year-round for individuals to learn, enhance social and employment skills, pursue economic empowerment, and access affordable housing opportunities.

Our mission is straightforward: to offer quality programs that equip individuals with essential skills for personal growth and success. These programs cover effective problem-solving, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, realistic goal setting, life skills training, academic tutoring, technology and computer use, select martial arts techniques, cosmetology instruction, silk screening art, and golf fundamentals. We are committed to helping individuals realize their full potential, fostering leadership, creativity, and resilience. Our programs are designed to empower participants with practical skills and the confidence to take on life’s challenges and create meaningful change. By offering diverse opportunities for learning and personal development, we aim to inspire a sense of purpose, community pride, and the determination to achieve a brighter future.
